What is a text-to-self connection that you had while reading?

  1. Gramps says that Sal is a country girl at heart. My connection is that when I was young, my Dad would tell me that I was a country girl. I liked to play in the creek and I used to hang out in our old corn crib.

  4. In the book it say that Sal had to move to a new town after her mother left her and her father and she did not want to.This is like when I had to move to a and I did want to move to a new house but in the same town and I did not want to move.

  5. in the story, it says that when sal went to a new school, that all the girls wore their hair in the same style. my conection is the opposit. when i was at my old school, all the girls wore their hair at shoulder lenght with layers and always in a ponytail, but when i came to El Paso-Gridley, all the girls wore different hair styles.

In this book I am reading the author says htat I Salamanca Tree Hiddle,was afraid of lots and lots of things.For example she was afraid of car accidents,death,cancer, brain tumors,and a lot more things.My connection is that I am just like her because I am scared of those things to.I am afraid of a lot more things than her a lot more.

  8. In the text Salamanca begins to tell stories with her grandparents about lots of different things. I love and I mean absolutly love hearing my grandparents stories about their past and when I hear them I think how cool their life was.
